Why can’t I find a vehicle?
Your search result may return an ‘active year range’ representing the period during which the model is considered current and has not been superseded. For example, a model released in 2021 may have an active year range of 2021-2024. The model remains current until the key features that impact CO2 emissions, such as the engine, transmission, drive system or body configuration are changed.
Some vehicles may not appear for the following reasons:
- Vehicle Type: Motorcycles, scooters, and heavy vehicles are excluded.
- New Models: The rating data may not yet be available for newly released vehicles.
- Naming Differences: Your vehicle might be listed under its global manufacturer name (e.g., BYD SA3 instead of BYD Sealion).
- Manufacturer Data: The Vehicle Emissions Star Rating (VESR) data is drawn under license from the Australian Government’s Green Vehicle Guide (GVG). Most vehicle manufacturers submit vehicle data to GVG, however some do not.
- Specialist Imports: Vehicles imported under the Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicle Scheme (SEVS) are excluded due to data limitations.
- Older Vehicles: Vehicles older than 2004 are not included on VESR
- Alternative Fuels: Hydrogen, LPG, Biofuels, solar-powered etc vehicles are not included on VESR.
